For professionals

You are moving to Italy, with us as your employer

A company abroad wants you on its team, in Italy. We are your legal employer here: we sponsor your permit, sign your Italian contract and pay you every month. Your work, your manager and your goals stay with the company that chose you.

Your permit

We file the nulla osta, sign the stay contract with you and track the renewal of your residence permit, so it never expires unnoticed.

Your contract

A written Italian contract under the CCNL for your sector, with level, salary, hours and probation, in Italian and English.

Your payslip

Monthly, with tax and contributions already withheld. It is also the income evidence you need for a lease and for bringing your family.

Pension and health

Your contributions go to INPS and build your Italian pension. You enrol in the national health service like any resident.

TFR and 13th month

About 6.91% of your yearly pay set aside as TFR severance, and an extra month's pay in December (a 14th in summer under some CCNLs).

Leave

At least 4 weeks of paid holiday, public holidays, paid sick leave, maternity and paternity leave.

Questions from people on the move

Who is my employer on paper?

ItalyBlueCard is your legal employer in Italy and the sponsor of your permit. The company abroad directs your daily work.

What if I want to change job?

With a Blue Card, in the first 12 months a change of employer needs prior approval of the labour office, deemed granted after 15 days without reply. After that you move like any employee.

What if the company abroad ends the project?

Italian dismissal rules and notice apply. As a Blue Card holder you can look for another job while unemployed, and you receive TFR, unused leave and the accrued 13th month.

Can my family come?

Yes, under the income and housing conditions. See family reunification.

Do I file a tax return?

Tax is withheld through payroll and you receive the CU certificate every year. You file a return only for other income or deductions.

Who helps me when I land?

One contact in our team, in Italian or English, from the visa appointment to your first payslip. See relocation.
